The Best 5 Games To Play With Your Partner On V-Day!

Valentine’s Day is upon us, and what better way to celebrate this occasion than with video games! Here are my Top 5 Games to play with your “Player Two”:

  1. Portal 2:

Portal 2 is a puzzle-platform game where you can play the campaign through Co-op. It’s a team effort to complete the puzzles to get through each level, and as they always say “teamwork makes the dream work”! I believe this is a great first introduction game if your significant other (or even yourself) has never played any form of first-person puzzle game.

  1. Don’t Starve Together:

Don’t Starve Together is a multiplayer expansion for the game Don’t Starve, which is an open-world survival video game, It’s kind of like if you mixed in Minecraft with a Tim Burton film, just a little bit creepier. In this game, you and your significant other will collect resources, craft items, and build structures as you enter into a strange world with really odd/off-the-wall creatures. Your main goal in the game is, well, Don’t Starve (I love puns).

  1. Destiny 2:

Okay listen, this game is kind of a meme here at dotSlashGaming HQ, because I am a HUGE Destiny fan, so I am including Destiny 2 on this list simply because it is a fun game to play (especially when they had the Crimson Days Event during Valentine’s day, please bring that back Bungie!). Destiny 2 is an FPS MMO that is set 700 years in the future. Jump in a fire team with your significant other or add a third wheel, because why not? Everyone needs love on V-day. Together you can explore the many locations Destiny 2 has to offer, along with the beauty of the game, and its amazing soundtrack. Do the campaign with them and experience one of the best ongoing stories in video games today. However, if your significant other is a Hunter, I’d rethink your life decisions.

  1. Stardew Valley:

Stardew Valley is a cute little Simulation/RPG game that is open-ended, meaning you play the game you want! It’s a lot like if Minecraft and Harvest Moon had a child together but with a different style of artwork. In Stardew Valley, both players settle on a farm. They can choose what kind of farm they’d like to create, each with its benefits and drawbacks. They can also go out and explore the little hamlet of Pelican Town and its surrounding areas. Stardew Valley features seasons and the ability to go to different areas like the caves or the desert. Players can even give fishing a go, though I find that I can never get a fish to stay on the hook.

  1. It Takes Two

It Takes Two is an action-adventure platform game, where you and your partner get to explore the game as a couple, Cody and May, with a fracturing relationship status, who find themselves turned into dolls by magic. You will embark on a journey where both players are challenged to work together to get through obstacles and to work on their relationship as a whole. The reason I have this game at the top of the list is the fact only one person has to own the game for their significant other to play it. I highly recommend this game for the story alone, so go ahead and share the experience with your partner this Valentine’s Day.

That’s a wrap from me. I hope everyone has a great Valentine’s Day, whether it is spent on your gaming console, or out and about with a loved one!
