The Four (un)Common Rooms of Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is crammed with everything we love about the wizarding world. In this article, we’ll help make one of the biggest choices the game has to offer a little bit easier by looking at the common rooms’ various styles from the four houses!

Ravenclaw Tower

In order to get through the raven-clad door and into the Ravenclaw common room, you’ll have to answer a riddle.

Once inside, the common room is astronomy-themed, with ceilings that have night skies and stars painted on them.

Gold and blue décor are strewn around the area, with books and telescopes making up the largest part
of the Ravenclaw Tower decorations.

The bedrooms are lofty and regal but welcoming, with an erudite atmosphere.

Hufflepuff Basement

The entrance to the Hufflepuff common room is down tree branch circled stairs into a basement with food-themed art and walls lined with barrels. One needs to tap on a certain barrel rhythmically to open the large barrel door to the common room. If you get it wrong, you will be dowsed in vinegar.

Inside the main common room, there is a definitive cottage-core style. The first word that sprang into my head was “Shire-like” with its round wooden doors.

Lighter wood tones and floral décor pushes the Herbology narrative that is strongly associated with Hufflepuffs.

The bedrooms in the Hufflepuff common room have warm lighting and truly do resemble a hobbit’s home.

Gryffindor Tower

Going through The Fat Lady Portrait with a password felt all too familiar. Although the Gryffindor
the common room gives a nod to the movies, and it is refreshed and elevated in Hogwarts Legacy.

The crimson and woody tones in this common room inspire warmth and nostalgia.

Trophies adorn the staircases, and Quidditch-themed memorabilia adorn the walls. Yes, that girl is standing on the hearth.

The Gryffindor bedrooms also take inspiration from the movies, with more intricacy and intrigue.

Slytherin Dungeon

This common room is most surprising because although it is darker than all the other common rooms, it does not feel dreary. Entering through a snake-adorned door with a password leads you into the Slytherin common room.

The common room depicts the lore of
being under Hogwarts lake, with giant windows to watch fish and a strong greenish hue.

Sewer-like hallways, corrugated grate steel floors, and stained-glass skylights all make the Slytherin
common room feels anything but dull.

The design is centered on aquatic creatures with Merpeople and even an indoor waterfall.

Which one to pick?

The creators of Hogwarts Legacy definitely did not skimp on detail to ensure that all the spaces feel inviting. No matter which house you pick, you will not be disappointed with any common rooms, as they all have unique qualities and quirks. Which house will you be sorted into?
